What began as a small family-owned metal component manufacturer in 1965; has now prospered into a 105,000 square foot facility. Located 40 miles north of Charlotte, this growing company has an immediate need for a Fabrication/Cost Engineer. The right candidate will have 5 years of experience with the fabrication and welding of industrial components; but will not be asked to perform these tasks, but must have the expertise and hands-on experience to be successful in this environment.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare quotes for potential customers; determine and estimate how much a project will cost (materials, equipment, time)
-Take the lead role in designing and making, or procuring, fixtures and tooling required for new jobs.
-Act as project manager for new programs, as assigned.
-Help with continuous improvement initiatives regarding reduction of process times and increased fabrication and welding productivity.
Requirements:
-College degree not required
-Cost estimating experience
-Fabrication quoting knowledge
-Hands-on experience working in an industrial setting
