About The Job

The Facilities/Maintenance Technician will perform skilled tasks in maintaining and improving the overall aquatic facilities as well as exceeding guest expectations for park operation at Splash Kingdom Waterpark in Shreveport, Louisiana. Incumbents assigned to this position are responsible for performing technical and skilled duties within the waterpark, including but not limited to:  water quality, filtration, air handling, chemical disinfection, and circulation systems with its associated equipment; maintenance of water attractions, lighting, structures, furniture, fixtures, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. 

Incumbents must possess the ability to:

§ Exercise independent judgment

§ Manage all maintenance / custodial operations and hold strict adherence to safety protocol.   

§ Understand pool chemistry and general pool maintenance practices

§ Maintain water quality to Splash Kingdom standards, industry standards, as well as compliance with local health codes.

§ Maintain filtration and circulation equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.

§ Maintain a clean, safe, well marked equipment room in accordance with OSHA guidelines.

§ Plan and complete a successful annual shutdown in coordination with departmental staff.

§ Complete and maintain Aquatic Facility Operator (APO) and or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) programs.

§ Plan and implement a preventive maintenance program.

§ Be knowledgeable and have the ability to train other in proper chemical handling procedures.

Basic requirements include:

§ Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification. (or willingness to get it).

§ Two or more years experience in the aquatics / maintenance field

§ Excellent written, oral, organization and interpersonal skills.

§ Good Microsoft Office Skills

§ Knowledge of entertainment or amusement industry a plus.

§ Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

§ High level problem solving / critical thinking skills

§ Self motivated and self directed.

§ A high level of enthusiasm for building and educating a team of seasonal maintenance staff.

§ Ability to communicate effectively and in a positive manner.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in varying extreme temperatures.  Must be able to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds, sit, stand or stoop for long periods.  Ability to climb 5+ flights of stairs.
