FI Counterparty Credit Analyst recruitment
Responsibilities:
- Institutional risk research, analysis, rating and forecasting, of new and existing members and third party service providers, within the countries that comprise the portfolio
- Bank contact at a senior executive/board level is a crucial requirement and responsibility. This requires extensive due diligence credit meetings with senior executives to discuss, inter alia, strategy, earnings, balance sheet composition, funding, treasury activities and risk profiles
- Responsible for country (sovereign) risk research, analysis, rating and forecasting, of the countries in portfolio. This includes the development of expert knowledge of the banking systems in which banks operate and knowledge of the credit and systemic risks inherent in those systems.
- Researching banks, and countries, and developing and implementing new information sources
- Determine the creditworthiness of banks incorporating sovereign constraints/benefits with the assistance of risk management tools.
- Assist in the development of regional and global credit policy to ensure that best practice is followed in these regions
- Travel to various sites across the EMEA region
Essential:
- Professionally Qualified or Masters
- Possession of a treasury qualification (such as FRM) would be advantageous
- Minimum 3-4 years Banking Experience; experience in credit analysis and lending;further experience in the specialised field of Financial Institutions analysis.
- Able to analyse complex bank balance sheets and strategies; credit portfolios, including structured lending, project finance, and off-balance sheet transactions; treasury strategies, and products; and the means of determining and monitoring risk exposure by banks.
- Wide appreciation, and understanding of, capital markets and an awareness of present trends and margins in the syndicated loans markets.
- Ability to develop a professional rapport with bank executives, central bankers and on occasion government ministers and civil servants
- Knowledge of foreign languages would be very advantageous but not essential.
