JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT: Risk, Global Banks Financial Institutions Team (London)

JOB TITLE: Internship at Newedge Group – 12 months

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Credit Analysis (70%)
• Maintaining and renewing existing limits and limit applications. Responsibilities include evaluating credit and transaction risk profile by performing detailed credit analysis. Accomplishing financial analysis of Financial Institutions counterparties (Banks, Brokers, Insurers, Sovereigns, etc).
• Working closely with regional and global risk teams in order to set appropriate limits with clients globally.
• Presenting finalized credit applications to the UK and Global credit committees.
• The product scope encompasses futures, options, OTC cash FX, fixed income securities, equities, securities financing and cash management products, plus any additional products or services that Newedge may offer.

Risk Monitoring Reporting (30%):
• Reviewing daily reports on financial institutions clients and identifying issues, including limit breaches and exceptions in risk reports.
• Follow up with the relevant departments/desks to achieve a resolution. Escalating noteworthy issues to senior management.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS EXPERIENCE

Systems
Technical/Systems knowledge: To have a good working knowledge of
• MS Excel (VB/macro skills preferred but not required)
• MS Word
• General computer literacy is essential: the role requires learning how to effectively use a number of different internal systems

Personal Skills
• Basic knowledge and a keen interest in financial markets and the banking industry.
• Knowledge of Excel and other MS Office systems.
• Accuracy and attention to detail is an essential requirement.
• Delegate to be comfortable in working with numbers.
• Excellent communicator: role requires both written and verbal interaction with various internal departments and teams globally.
• Excellent organisational skills are required to effectively accommodate workflows and manage priorities.
• Project management skills: Ability to take responsibility for a project and see through to completion and manage ad-hoc projects.
• Time management: Balancing daily duties with general responsibilities and ensuring timely preparation of reports.
• Team player and flexible attitude.
• Languages - Fluent English essential.
