Job Title: Field Application Engineer (FAE)

The Field Application Engineer position will be located in the sales and marketing organization of Laser Technology, Inc. You will play a key role in working with our sales team, product managers, external customers and potential customers to expand our Laser Sensor business in four key vertical markets. You will assist potential customers in exploring how our laser sensors can be implemented and installed to solve their technical and business needs. The incumbent shall be able to assess technology fit, design and installation methods of pilot site and manage testing and implementation. This position reports to the Director of Marketing, while having day-to-day accountability as part of the sales team reporting to the international and national Sales Directors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide technical consultative assistance during the sales cycle to accurately assess potential customer’s needs and determine the appropriate solution from LTI’s Sensor product portfolio.
· Develop and deliver customized technical presentations and proposals on-site and virtually in conjunction with the sales managers to assist potential customers in their evaluation of LTI’s solutions and convey the unique value proposition that we deliver.
· Provide Pre-sales support and technical presentations – on-site, by phone and through web conferencing – regarding product strategy and roadmaps, features, competing industry technology and positioning. Deliver value proposition to technical and managerial personnel at customers.
· Work with engineering constituencies and groups inside LTI to resolve product application fit and implementation issues and recommend improvements to products and other deliverables.
· Investigate and understand competing measurement technologies and how to sell against them.
· As a member of the Sales Team, actively participate in the RFI, RFP and RFQ process when needed and define and acknowledge the technical portions of the strategy and response.
· Collect customer feedback and provide input to Marketing Director and Product Manager for design requirements, product enhancements and new product opportunities. Provide input on marketing collateral and sales tools.
· Participate in conferences and regional events, including staffing booths, delivering presentations, plenary sessions and meeting with customers to identify needs.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum 3 years of experience in field application engineering relative to hardware installation.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in the Industrial Markets.
· Ability to travel nationally to customer sites in North America and potentially internationally. (60% Travel)
· Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Including the ability to simply and clearly explain and demonstrate technology and develop compelling proposals and deliver persuasive presentations.
· Must possess technical aptitude and be able to learn our Laser Sensor product line.

· Results oriented, proven ability to utilize and manage the organizations resourced to achieve sales goals.
· Strong analytic skills with the ability to understand client needs, and then collaborate with them to deliver solutions that provide lasting value.
· Strong technical competence preferred in measurement technologies, laser measurement, detection and proximity, leveling, sensing technologies.
· Excellent understanding of sales process with substantive depth to develop solutions to complex engineering-related issues.
· Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or applicable technical training or experience in the Industrial market.
