As a field service engineer your main focus is to deliver onsite technical support to customers, in order to ensure an optimal functioning and performance of EUV light sources in the semiconductor manufacturing process.

Job Description

You are working in the Customer Service, Field Service group which is responsible for the installation, qualification, support and maintenance of EUV light sources at customer locations. Today these locations are  Veldhoven (the Netherlands) and Leuven (Belgium), and our headquarter in Aachen (Germany). As a Field service Engineer, flexiblity towards worktimes (up to 7x24) and location is required. The job requires a good overall knowledge of the complete system with all its sub modules and their dependencies.

Major task and responsibilities are:

• Install the system on location in close cooperation with representatives from the scanner supplier.
• Execute system release tests, analyse and document test results.
• Maintain and repair the system at various customer locations.
• Analyze and diagnose problems on customer location with, if required, support from specialists from our headquarter in Aachen.
• Manages technical escalations from customer to headquarter in Aachen.
• Plans work and tasks together with customer.
• Pro active diagnostics and maintanance in order to secure an optimal uptime of the equipment.
• Make performance improvement proposals.
• Initiate improvements in order to improve serviceability or Way of Working.
• Ordering replacement parts, keeping administrative track of system configuration and changes thereto.
• Able to transfer knowledge to and support the customer with system operation, performance improvement and maintenance.
   

Job Requirements: 
 

• Bachelor degree in Electro-technology, Electronics, Mechanical engineering or Physics.
• Affinity with complex high tech equipment, preferably in a semiconductor environment.
• Technical knowledge and/or affinity with several of the following: high power electronics, control-electronics, software, mechanics, physics. Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Vacuum and laser knowledge is a pre.
• Prepared to work on customer location during long periods. Next to regular day shift, working hours can shift to other time frames including week-ends and remote standby.

Requirements

Experience:

• 3 Years or more experience with high tech equipment, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Training will be provided on our products in our headquarter in Aachen, manufacturing plant in Alsdorf, and by mentoring coaching at customer location.

Personal Skills:

• A person who sees challenges instead of problems and a hands-on mentality.
• Excellent communicative skills. Fluent in English verbal and written and basic knowledge of German.
• Customer oriented.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting skills.
