The purpose of this position it to provide after sales customer support, technical advice, field servicing, commissioning, maintenance, workshop repair and general information for all CGT products. Raise quality concerns following investigations and provide high level of support to all customers. On a Rota basis respond to out of hours emergency service calls. Duties include:
•Provide help desk cover and manage out of hour’s coverage (on call at weekends and evenings for emergencies).
•Make technical assessment of field failures and application problems on company and related products both past and present and run problem solving with associated installations and control systems.
•Investigate, diagnose and where possible rectify problems on all types of company and related products and their associated equipment in field and workshop.
•Make warranty decisions and determine liability for warranty claims whilst representing the company and being aware of customer relations and company policies.
•Travel worldwide at short notice, often involving unsociable hours. This can involve working in hostile and difficult (hazardous) environments on equipment up to 13.8Kv with minimum supervision, if necessary re-arranging travel plans on route.
•Carry out all other tasks consistent with the nature and level of this position to meet the best interests of the Customer Support organisation.
Required minimum qualifications are a HNC/ONC in electrical or mechanical engineering. You should also have demonstrable experience in working with generators and related equipment, preferably in the design, maintenance, electrical test or inspection. Experience with power electronics, HV, Control panel, PLC experience advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communications, together with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
