Finance Analyst Assistant (PPI)
Based in Northampton
£200 per day
Contract till 28th March 2014
An opportunity has come available with an International Banking organisation for 3 Finance Analyst Assistants to work on the PPI project. My client is looking for qualified or part qualified accountants with experience in Reconciliations and Finance Analysis.
Your role will be to provide high quality analysis to assess the impact of PPI redress within Consumer Affairs PPI with a particular focus on the bank’s reporting obligations to HMRC and reconciliations within the Tax at Source project. Duties will include:
Support financial reconciliation on the Tax at Source project
Support project team producing annual returns to HMRC under SS17 17 of TMA 1970.
Discharge the bank’s reporting obligations to HMRC in relation to the taxable interest components of PPI redress settlements
Work closely with Operations team to improve input quality
Produce CT61 returns and arrange timely settlement with HMRC. Particular focus on supporting the reconciliation function.
Liaise integrate with multiple areas across the bank including Group Tax, Regulatory Compliance, Operations, Project Management, Analytics Information, local Finance business teams and Financial Control
Support senior colleagues business in matters of reconciliation, S17, S18 and CT61
Essential Experience
Must be a qualified or part qualified accountant
Experience, knowledge and skills to understand implications and challenges of this work, while possessing the tenacity to see through to completion
Analytical abilities with ability to handle and distil large volumes of complex data
High degree of organisation, adaptable and flexible, comfortable with detail and able to manage competing priorities.
