FINANCE ASSISTANT – FINANCIAL REPORTING
The main responsibilities within this role are to provide finance and MI support for the Company, delivering accurate, timely and meaningful reporting and analysis of performance. The successful candidate will act as support to the Head of Europe Finance and business heads, to contribute to the wider management of the business.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide financial input to the Global Finance Centre (GFC) for the posting of journals to the general ledger, including accruals, prepayments, revenue schedules.
- Review and authorise journals raised by the Global Finance Centre for posting to the general ledger.
- Ensure monthly financials for the business lines are accurate and prepared in line with required timescales for monthend close.
- Manage the processing of supplier invoices, including submission of approved invoices to Accounts Payable for processing.
- To review and sign off general ledger balances and reconciliations via the Assurenet system, including accruals, bank accounts, debtors.
- Work with the Global Finance Centre to resolve any unreconciled or aged items, and to provide relevant commentary and exception reporting.
- Review Group reporting submissions prepared by the GFC and confirm approval prior to submitting via Group Saracen system.
- Provision of information to external auditors as required during annual audit, and provide accurate and timely response to audit queries.
- Work with GFC to ensure quarterly VAT returns prepared accurately and on time. Submission of returns via Group VAT.
- Work with the Europe MI Hub to ensure Flash and Final reporting is submitted including relevant comments. Communicate Flash and Final results to Business Mancos.
- Manage the preparation and delivery of MI to meet Global Finance requirements, including Headcount reporting, debtors reporting, controllable cost reporting.
- Manage the preparation of comprehensive monthly MI reporting pack for the businesses, working closely with the Europe Finance Hub, ensuring that MI processes and procedures are continuously improved.
- Work with wider Finance teams to deliver new initiatives and implement new and robust MI processes, systems and procedures to provide consistent, timely and focussed MI across Europe.
- Manage the preparation and delivery of MI for European jurisdictions.
- Provide ad hoc support to business managers.
- To support the business teams by providing accurate, timely and meaningful planning, forecasting and analysis of business performance. A key element of this role will be to demonstrate the effective co-ordination of Forecasting and Planning across multiple cost centres for the Company.
- Work closely with business managers and Europe MI Hub to complete the annual planning process, including pulling together detailed forecast inputs, and submitting forecast data into the TM1 finance planning system.
- To ensure that client invoices are prepared and issued in line with required policy, and that credit control procedures are adhered to.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the securities market and the associated market infrastructure, with related Finance/MI implications.
- Respond to adhoc finance and MI requests as required to meet business requirements.
- Represent Finance with authority in all Finance/MI dealings within the Company.
- Participate in market infrastructure change initiatives, providing input from a Finance/MI perspective.
- Contribute to the achievement of target KPI's relating to the Finance/MI service.

Core Requirements:
- Experience and track record of successful delivery in a Finance/MI environment.
- Strong academic and professional track record working toward or ideally having a relevant CCAB qualification.
- Advanced MS Office skills in particular Excel.
- Proven experience in identifying and managing the risks, issues and dependencies related to complex projects.
- Sound knowledge of the securities industry and global market infrastructure.
