Finance Controller of Central Functions recruitment
The role holder will provide finance business partnering support to functional heads of operations, IT development, IT operations, HR, finance, marketing, savings and CEO. The individual will be responsible for the Accounts Payable / Expense Processing unit for the bank. Further duties will include preparing TAX VAT returns – facing off against HMRC and our tax advisors. Additionally the incumbent will be responsible for the payroll of the bank
Key accountabilities
- Project accounting – to support Operations and Marketing with business case development, project set up and on-going capture, analysis and commentary on project spend
- Headcount – to track headcount across the company and identify potential over-spend against budget.
- Fixed assets – to maintain the register and ensure that the policy for the capitalisation of project costs is adhered to.
- Systems – administer the fixed asset register, the FSA regulatory reporting system (to be defined), and the purchase order module.
- Budgeting Forecasting – to assist the Strategic Planning Controller during the preparation of the budget.
- Accounts Payable and Expense management – oversee the processing of the function
- TAX VAT – processes returns, liaise with HMRC engage our advisors as and when required.
- Payroll – oversee the production and processing of the Payroll of the bank.
Experience normally associated with successful performance of role
-In-depth understating of central function finance
-Can demonstrate prior TAX + VAT processing experience
-Prior experience of managing an Accounts Payable / Expense processing unit
-Prior experience of running a payroll function
-Knowledge of robust controls environment
Qualifications
Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
6+ years PQE
Essential / Desirable
Tax qualification an advantage
Knowledge of a robust controls environment
Prior experience of managing an Accounts Payable / Expense processing unit
