Our client is a reputable and well-established Alternative Investment Management Company with diverse businesses in managing Private Equity Funds, Real Estate Funds and Mezzanine Funds. With an expanding international and regional presence, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a high-calibre Finance Director to join and lead the Finance team.
Reporting to the CFO, you will lead a Corporate Accounting Finance team spread across Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing and be responsible for managing and strengthening the financial and accounting infrastructure to support the funds businesses and the group's growth strategies. The team will ensure timely production of all statutory, regulatory and tax reporting of the corporate entities and to prepare robust management information on variances, trends and comparison to senior management. As a functional leader, you will partner with the business and other unit leaders on product launches, policies and procedures implementation and group financial re-engineering initiatives. You will also assist in the development of the Finance Teams in China and other Asian locations. In addition, you will be responsible for cash management management and corporate treasury matters. This is a hands-on role and you will be the key liaison between regulators and external accounting, audit, tax advisors.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- A university degree with a professional accounting qualification
- Minimum 12 years relevant Big 4 experience plus experience at Financial Controller level within Asset Management or Alternative Investment Management
- Strong technical accounting, fair value accounting, regulatory and tax reporting knowledge including HK GAAP, PRC GAAP, HK PRC Tax, FRR reporting, SFC requirements
- Experience in handling corporate accounting for multi-businesses companies and complex fund management company structure
- Knowledge of listed companies accounting and disclosure and experience in MA, JV transactions would be highly advantageous
- Team leadership skills and ability to front business and senior management
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English AND Mandarin
