Job based within Shropshire
12 month contract covering maternity leave

Our client are a market leading manufacturing business based within Shropshire. They currently have a job vacancy for a 12 month contract within the finance team covering a recent maternity leave. We are looking for someone available to start mid to late June ideally for a 6 week handover and two month end processes prior to taking control.

In this job, you will manage the financial accounting team as well as assuming overall responsibility for the financial accounting function for European operations. You role will be to ensure all elements of the balance sheet are reconciled and correctly reported as well as ensure all transactions conform to company policy and all statutory requirements. Your specific areas of responsibility will include the following; balance sheet reconciliation's, currency movements, accounts payable, cash allocation, VAT and intrastat, month end reporting, tax and compliance. There is also a significant staff management aspect to this job vacancy, managing staff both locally and remotely managing one accountant based abroad.

To be considered for this job you will need to be a fully qualified accountant with a professional accountancy qualification - ideally ACCA or ACA. You need to have 5 years post qualification experience working within a financial accounting environment as well as a broad experience of financial accounting functions. Previous experience of managing a financial accounting function would also be of benefit. You should also be able to demonstrate rigourous attention to detail, ability to work to tight deadlines and good organisation skills. The ability to lead and motivate a finance team is also essential.
