Role Description

Overview:

Global Finance and Foreign Exchange (GFFX) is a business within the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) division of Deutsche Bank. Global Finance (GF) is mandated to market interest rate risk products with a two year or less tenor, provide unsecured and secured financing for the Deutsche Bank group as well as provide recourse and non recourse financing for clients. The product suite encompasses short end interest rate derivatives, money markets, government and credit repo, asset backed and commercial paper, structured credit financing and exchange traded futures and options. Deutsche Bank Foreign Exchange (FX) is an industry recognized market leader in all aspects of FX from the standard spot markets to the exotics, from vanilla options to complex structure and from electronic trading to prime brokerage.

Responsibilities:

The open position is for a Finance Manager within the GF Finance team, based in New York. The successful individual will be responsible for the Finance and control functions for the GF business area. Key business stakeholders include 4 MDs.

-          Managing and enhancing the validation and control process of GF financial and management information

-          Contributing to business strategy and delivery

-          Delivering challenge and provoking alternative thinking on strategy and deal making

-          Contributing to the effective development of key business processes and systems supporting financial management, cost and risk control

-          Accessing technological solutions to data management, analysis and reporting issues at every opportunity

-          Contributing to comprehensive, business-focused information processes

-          Utilising lead indicators and market dynamics to create an accurate context for DB and internal stakeholders

-          Actively supporting strategically-focused business development with the stakeholders

-          Developing propositions and tactics to exploit opportunities and alternative strategies based on sound analysis and commercial judgement

-          Analyzing current markets and the relative performance of DB Business

-          Providing advise to the Trading Desk and senior managers on trade bookings, accounting treatment and valuation/reserving for new transactions or products

-          Working with the rest of GFFX Finance team in other locations on Finance wide initiatives

Professional and Personal Qualifications:

-          7 to 10 years of broad industry experience, in either product control or Business Management, as well as financial control and reporting (USGAAP, IFRS, local regulatory requirements, balance sheet, RWA and capital usage)

-          ACA/CPA, CFA and/or MBA preferred

-          Managerial experience

-          Self- motivated and proactive in all aspects of the role

-          Strong team player

-          Strong communication, analytical and technical skills are required
