Finance Manager- Regulatory Reporting Control

My client is is a global financial services company focused on helping clients manage and service their financial assets, operating in 36 countries and serving more than 100 markets. They are a leading provider of financial services for institutions, corporations and high-net-worth individuals, providing superior asset management and wealth management, asset servicing, issuer services, clearing services and treasury services.

I am currently looking for an individual to work closely with the EMEA regulatory reporting team to enhance documentation and controls over reporting processes in order to comply with internal Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements. The role would suit someone with a track record of process improvement, previous involvement with project work and a willingness to make a practical contribution to the controls within the busy regulatory reporting team. This is for an initial 4 month period.

The Regulatory Reporting function for EMEA comprises staff based in the Manchester Regional Shared Service Centre and in each of the main market centres – London, Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt and Luxembourg. The Manchester team is mainly responsible for the timely and accurate production of the regulatory returns to national regulators. The team are also responsible for the submission of returns to the Central Regulatory Reporting team in the US for consolidation into the returns to the US regulators and in support of the quarterly earnings release.

Your responsibilities will cover a number of areas, including:

Data inventory and certification letters: Creation of an inventory of data sources relied upon and internal submissions to regulatory reporting; Identification of owners who will need to submit periodic certification letters. Agree text, format and process for submissions; Identification of any data remediation issues that may need to be addressed; and support the creation of a Data dictionary

Evidencing process controls: Design and implement return specific end to end process and control checklists; Implement a Legal entity portal for tracking external submissions (Load reporting item and dates / Train regulatory reporting staff / Set up the delivery of the monthly reporting from the system).

Procedures and Control documentation: Update procedures and control documentation; Facilitate workshops with staff to ensure regulatory reporting staff are familiar with revised controls and processes.

Variance analysis policy and process: Write variance analysis policy; Set up variance analysis process for regulatory reporting; Support training on variance analysis with regulatory reporting staff.

It is expected that you will be a qualified accountant with a number of years PQE, and have significant experience of managing and improving accounting processes - any Project management experience would be an advantage.

It is expected you will have strong knowledge of SOX and Internal controls, and have experience of working in a fast paced, highly controlled, multinational/functional organisation.

To fulfil this role successfully you will need to demonstrate a number of personal attributes. You will need to be Adaptable, flexible and proactive and have good communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need to be a good decision maker: responsible and accountable, and be deadline driven with effective time management and ability to work under pressure.

This role is for an initial 4 month period and is to start as soon as possible.
