Finance Manager, Transformation Program Office
Description of department / division
The Transformation Program Office is group of PMO resources dedicated to supporting AMP’s Transformation Program. It operates as a Centre of Excellence under the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (“EPMO”). The team is focused on delivering a program of agreed key activities and financial targets, as well as actively managing program risks and effectively managing stakeholders to ensure broad support for the Transformation program.
Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to:
- Manage the provision of quality and timely financial information and advice to the Transformation Director and Leadership Team engaging with and utilising EPMO methods and standards to aid their decision making processes
- Provide Financial support to the Transformation Director and the Transformation Program Office lead
- Ensure all Transformation program financial reporting meets the needs of the external auditors and AMP Finance particularly Investor Relations, Management Reporting, Actuarial and Group Tax
- Take ownership for driving the tracking and monitoring of Transformation program benefits
Main focus areas
Responsible for liaising with EPMO Portfolio Accounting function to utilise established methods and standards to ensure program financial projections are properly reflected in enterprise Master List, you will lead periodic forecasting of Transformational program expenses, providing meaningful commentary and variance analysis overseeing cost centre owners to support management of Transformation program expenses including contingency.
You will ensure transformation program finance processes support and accurate production of monthly expenses reports and oversee analysis and reporting of monthly program expenses to drive ongoing automation.
In collaboration with the EPMO Portfolio Accounting function, you will liaise with AMP Finance to ensure proper accounting for PL impacts, provide financial guidance, coaching and support to the program leadership team and proactively educate and coach relevant work streams.
Skills and behaviours – job specific
Possessing developed analytical capabilities, you will have the proven experience to review reasonableness of numeric outputs and apply judgement. You will be a system thinking with a demonstrated ability to identify system and process weaknesses and have the ability to propose new ideas and implement change.
With strong leadership and management ability, you will be comfortable in partnering and consulting with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally at all levels and can verbally express your ideas to both individuals and within group situations whilst adjusting your language to the character of the audience.
A proven track record in accounting experience as a business, financial or cost analyst with several years in a team leader or management role in the financial services industry is essential for this role, as will your proven management reporting, planning and project accounting experience across reports, analysis and commentary.
Technically you will be advanced in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Essbase, Cognose and Financial Ledgers and will be able to couple this with your proven project/process implementation experience.
It will be essential that you are CA / CPA qualified for this role, however if you have further studies around an MBA it would be highly beneficial.
