Finance Operational Risk Manager (Product Control)

We are looking for an energetic and motivated qualified accountant, based in Zurich or London, with Banking experience and good front to back process knowledge to join our Finance Operational Risk Management team (FORM). This team faces off against the Group Finance functions globally to ensure that all facets of operational risk management are covered, for example:

• Ensure compliance with the Operational Risk Framework (ORF 2.0);
• Coordinate, manage, assess and challenge operational risk identification and assessment across the Group Finance function including an ongoing review of key risk indicators;
• Ensure remediation activities to address operational risk issues, events or audit actions are appropriate and sustainable;
• Provide key stakeholders (FEC, FORC, Functional MCs, OR aligned staff) with timely and accurate reporting of all operational risk related items;
• Facilitate the quarterly Internal Control Assessment process (ICAP) for all Group Finance functions;
• Serve as guardians of Group Finance’s control framework.
• Promote Operational Risk governance within the product control function

The Group Finance functions that are supported by this Group Finance Operational Risk team include, Group Treasury ALM and Group Treasury Product Control

Group Finance Operational Risk processes managed by the FORM team include:

• Risk reporting - Reporting of all Group Finance’s risk issues and other key risk indicators (including audit points, ICAP results, OR events, balance sheet substantiation results and other KPIs) to a number of key stakeholders including the Finance Executive Committee (FEC) and Finance Operational Risk Committee (FORC);
• Implementation of ORF 2.0 across Group Finance;
• Actively challenging all Group Finance functions on the identification, completeness, assessment and remediation of risks.
• Design, coordination, maintenance and independent review of all Group Finance internal control assessments (ICAP).
• Design, coordination and challenge around OR event reporting;
• Monitoring of action plans, risk issues and audit points and escalation of any overdue items;
• Coordination and/or involvement in ‘deep dive’ reviews;
• Testing of SOX critical key procedural controls;
• Reviewing balance sheet substantiation results;
• Acting, where appropriate, as key liaison with internal and external auditors and assisting with internal policy governance.
• Perform balance sheet substantiation processes proof calls
• Prepare and present monthly summaries of the Operational Risk issues to the functional heads and interested partie

• Knowledge of a Bank’s Front to Back control environment;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage key relationships with Senior Management in Finance;
• Able to probe and challenge senior Finance managers;
• Ability to identify control gaps with a control minded approach to developing solutions;
• Strength to lead key OR processes and projects globally;
• Ability to co-ordinate and consolidate information from a variety of sources;
• Well organized with strong planning and analytical skills.

• This role is the part of the Group Treasury ORM team.
• As a senior member of the Finance ORM team you will provide support to the Finance ORM Treasury lead (based in London) and the wider Group Finance ORM management team – this will entail a Global outlook.
• You will be the key face off to all senior stakeholders in the UK region including the Head GT Product Control.
