Finance & Operations – Senior Associate recruitment
Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance and Operations department, you will be responsible for maintaining the accounting records, preparation of monthly accounts and financial statements, regulatory management reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily monitoring of bank account balances and reconciliation
- Assisting in preparation and updating of our business plan and ICAAP
- Daily, weekly and monthly analysis, reconciliation and substantiation of revenue and balance sheet accounts
- Responsible for month-end close and preparation of monthly management reports
- Assisting in the preparation and submission of quarterly, semi annual and annual FSA returns
- Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly reporting pack with comments on variances
- Maintaining good working relationship both internally with front, middle and back office and externally with third parties such as counterparties, banks etc
- Ensuring that adequate accounting and other records and internal controls in the finance areas are maintained.
- Undertake process improvement and reengineering
- And other ad hoc projects as assigned
- Preparation of timely and accurate year end financial reports in accordance with statutory requirements and IFRS accounting standards.
- Coordinating with the external auditors regarding the books and records, and statutory and regulatory financial statements of the firm
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Education to degree level and / or recently qualified or part -qualified ACA/ ACCA / CIMA.
- Experience ideally gained from a small/medium size firm within practice or the financial sector
- Previous auditing, UK taxation and regulatory requirement experience would be a plus
- An in-depth knowledge of IFRS, financial management principles and techniques including planning, forecasting and budgeting and the ability to apply them effectively in a banking environment is also required
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office with highly competent advanced Excel, experience in using Sage
- Excellent communication skills, an analytical and inquiring mind, attention to detail, a proactive approach and high level of enthusiasm for team working in a fast growing environment with tight deadlines
