Finance Software Engineer recruitment

Quantitative research and analytics are core to Moody's ability to deliver the highest quality structured, fundamental and public finance ratings. As complex transactions come to market and investor expectations of the firm increase, the quality and consistency of quantitative models and research are vital. The SFG Q Team works directly with the ratings analysts to provide quantitative modelling, financial analytics and decision support software development expertise; and develop and maintain/oversee data sourcing, analytics and infrastructure.  

Responsibilities  

This is an opportunity for an individual with a software development background and knowledge of finance to join Moody's structured finance group in London, to work on cutting edge projects related to structured finance models and monitoring systems.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of developing quality software solutions and adapting to the evolving needs of the business.  The role will initially involve working on existing C#.NET projects relating to analytical ratings processes, that have high visibility within the analyst teams.

This role will suit a highly motivated problem solver with good communication skills and a proven ability to use their own initiative and work without close supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Working directly with analytical teams in under to understand business requirements
*  Design, develop and maintain software systems using C#.NET, SQL
*  Internal training and deployment of software applications 

Qualifications

*  BSC in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering or a related field.  

Experience  

*  Track record of outstanding accomplishments.  

Technical Skills 

*  Excellent Excel and VBA skills - Essential
*  Database programming (SQL) - Essential
*  C#.NET Development - Desirable
*  Statistical / numerical analysis - Desirable
*  Monte Carlo analysis / structured finance modelling - Desirable

Non-technical Skills

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills: candidates will be working in an international environment with a high priority on team work
*  Fluency in English a must and another European language is an advantage. 
*  Detail oriented and highly organised
*  Rigorous and analytical thought process
*  Experienced in working to tight deadlines
*  Able to work on own initiative and without close supervision
*  Good written and verbal communication skills
