Financial Accountant, Qualified – 6 month contract, London recruitment

The Financial Reporting is a team of 20 individuals, mostly qualified accountants, who are responsible for collecting and reviewing balance sheet and profit and loss information across all business areas and legal entities in order to support internal decisions making and external reporting for the Group.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Collection and review of additional supplementary analysis on selected balance sheet line items, and reconciliation of this data back to SAP.
• Preparation of reporting schedules on selected balance sheet and profit and loss account lines for inclusion in the quarterly reporting pack that is prepared for senior management.
• Review and challenge of analytical review submissions received from regional finance teams during reporting periods, with a view to understanding key drivers of the balance sheet and PL.
 • Review and challenge additional submissions received by regional finance teams to ensure the data provided is complete and accurate.

• Performance of financial control responsibilities for the entities controlled by the team, including preparation of balance sheet and PL numbers and posting into SAP.
• Standardising and documenting all key processes.

Skills and Competencies

Mandatory:

• University degree or equivalent

• Qualified accountant, CIMA, ACCA, or ACA

• Prior experience in a financial reporting role within a large bank or corporate.

• Strong excel skills

Preferred:

• Experience using Microsoft Access

• Experience using SAP
