Financial Analyst recruitment

The position of Financial Analyst within Income Simulation group will provide support for the Strategic Planning function of the bank.  The position requires extensive financial and data analysis with the task of providing senior management and regulators with information to manage the Bank’s future earnings profile.  The primary function will be the periodic income simulation forecasts for internal management and regulatory reporting.Position will provide extensive support for the balance sheet planning process, on-going financial analysis, preparation of periodic Board of Directors and ALCO reports, and ad hoc analyses as deemed necessary.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop thorough knowledge of ALM system functionality.

• Ensure asset/liability detail, modeling assumptions  and documentation are consistent with business and regulatory standards for modeling of income sensitivities. Update models and assumptions as necessary.

• Utilize ALM model framework to provide critical financial forecasts for strategic planning and to assess balance sheet risks under various stress scenarios.

• Preparation, development and analysis of ALM reports, metrics and risk dashboards.   Develop detailed knowledge of the underlying data, modeling assumptions and financial instrument behavior.

• Prepare and develop presentations  which are distributed to the senior management, federal regulators, ALCO and the Board of Directors.

• Assist in the development of the Bank’s budget and strategic plans.

• Analyze profitability of management scenarios and reconcile earnings forecasts to financial results.

• Support business response to questions and data requests related to Income Simulation metrics from management and regulators.

• Provide strategic analysis on projects to improve business processes/metrics.

• Participate in cross-functional teams (e.g. Legal, Members Markets, Accounting, Risk Management, etc.) to provide business function support.

Skills Competencies:

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with knowledge of accounting, fixed income and other financial instruments.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to explain complex matters to multiple constituencies.

• Ability to anticipate issues and drive initiatives that achieve results.

• Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

• Knowledge of Asset/Liability Management systems is preferable. 

• Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Bloomberg and other business-related software is preferred.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline. MBA or Master’s degrees are welcome.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance, fixed income, risk management or related experience in a financial institution is required.

• Forecasting and budgeting experience is desired.

• CFA and/or CPA designations are welcome but not required.
