Financial Analyst – Special Servicing – Frankfurt recruitment
The Financial Analyst position is a commercial real estate and structured finance employment opportunity at Hatfield Philips in Frankfurt, Germany.
Operating out of offices in London and Frankfurt, Hatfield Philips is Europe’s largest independent real estate loan manager, working for well-known international banks and other clients. Amongst others, we are responsible for the restructuring and recovery of complex, distressed and non-performing property loans and work with an experienced team of specialists to find and execute the best exit strategy.
To strengthen our team in Frankfurt, we are looking to recruit a (recent) graduate as Financial Analyst that enjoys analysing complex property, structured finance and corporate structures in an international, team-spirited environment.
Main responsibilities include:
You will work with the loan managers and a team leader to facilitate the resolution of the loans by performing thorough financial analysis and modelling to develop and execute the optimal exit strategies.
- Analysing property, company and loan level data (credit analysis)
- Assisting in the servicing of complex loan positions, that will include preparing financial models for scenario analysis, reviewing loan documentation, assisting in the loan restructuring, providing loan performance information, performing property inspections, monitoring payments
- Liaising with external contacts regarding information/reporting requirements
- Preparation of various management and external investor reports
- The Analyst will provide support in negotiating resolutions for defaulted loans. This will require providing financial analysis to support strategy decisions, underwriting underlying collateral and loan level cash flows, and participating in the negotiation with borrowers to secure maximum loan recoveries
- Due Diligence support for sourcing/underwriting of new real estate loans
We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following:
- Successfully completed academic degree in finance, real estate or business
- Proven strong analytical skills
- Understanding and good knowledge of cash flow analysis in MS Excel
- Experience in real estate and/or structured finance is preferred but not required
- Motivated and detail orientated with ability to work independently
- 0-2 years work experience (incl. internships)
- Must be able to work, communicate and cooperate within a team environment
- Fluency in English and German essential
- Valid car driver’s license
