Financial Controller – Asia recruitment
This position will have a dual reporting line into both management and financial accounting heads to determine the financial needs of the Asian offices and to coordinate the preparation of financial information that is required firm wide.
PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Line Control:
- Provides advice on financial implications of business trends and products
- Fulfills the product control and analysis needs of senior management, business managers and external clients including shareholders, analysts, investors, and regulators
- Directs monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closing and reporting process in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices and standards, including income and expense accruals
- Constructs and analyzes a consolidated Business Line and/or Product budget, monitors the actual results of operations, researches variances or trends
- Prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to top management
- Supports financial analysis of business opportunities including acquisitions or divestatures, alliances, new products, and/or partnerships. Monitors new opportunities to determine that progress against projections and keeps leadership informed
- Ensure accurate and timely management reporting for the Asian offices
- Develop financial forecasts and budgets and provide analysis of actual results to plan
Core Control:
- Identification, follow-up and escalation of emerging accounting and financial regulatory reporting developments for Asian offices
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual accounts, Corporate and Indirect tax returns, Board of Directors and other ad hoc regulatory financial reports
- Provide support for internal and external statutory audit and tax reviews
- Provide support to the Accounts Payables team based in Luxembourg
- Assist and provide support during the month-end and year-end closing of the statutory accounting records
Assess, improve and document the accuracy of existing accounting and reporting procedures and processes.
The ideal candidate will have 10 years experience working within a global bank, most recently as a senior accountant, be big 4 qualified and have experience working in a stand alone role.
