About our client
Our client seeks a financial controller to join their successful international fund of funds with more than US$3 billion of assets under management. They are opening up an office in Mexico City and seek a financial controller with a solid grasp of financial planning controlling and legal, regulatory and tax issues.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports, along with all documentation related to funds activities
- Coordinate and maintain communication with all external advisers to the fund for all regulatory compliance issues;
- Work and report directly to the CFO responsible for all global operations;
- Maintain compliance with tax obligations in Mexico, including, but not limited, to the filing of monthly tax declarations
- Manage and maintain interface with independent valuation firm
- Handle all financial and regulatory aspects related to CKDs
- Oversee all accounting activities of the fund, including, payroll, payables, etc
- Manage and coordinate communication with legal advisor to the fund on shareholders and Board of Directors meetings and tax filings required by the local Mexican tax authorities (SAT)
- Assume responsibility for all cash management of the Mexico fund
- Take responsibility for all necessary audits for any Mexican domiciled legal entities
Skills we’re looking for
- Thorough knowledge and experience in Mexican financial and tax regulations, including experience in CKDs;
- Accounting, finance or legal degree
- Significant experience in accounting for financial instruments in Mexico;
- Understanding and experience with CKD instruments
- Experience dealing with the CNBV, Afores as well as banking financial institutions
- PE accounting experience highly preferred
- Bi lingual in English and Spanish
