Financial Controller Job in Bedfordshire, Home Counties UK

This well established professional services firm is seeking a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) to join as Financial Controller.  Working alongside the Finance Director you will have day to day responsibility for managing the transactional processing finance functions including purchase ledger, expenses, sales ledger and banking.  We are looking for a minimum of 2/3 years post qualified experience in a similar role managing finance processes as well as experience of preparation of management and annual accounts, ideally gained in a professional services environment.  Strong financial accounting skills as well as sound knowledge of UK practice and legislation are key requirements as well as a clear understanding of the revenue generation and invoicing process.

This role requires a good man manager as there are 3 direct reports.  It is a hands on role that requires the individual to be robust, confident, adept at building relationships and not be afraid to get their hands dirty!

Applicants must be well presented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong IT skills are essential specifically advanced Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft software (Outlook, Word) as well as accounting (ideally SAGE) and payroll packages (ideally ADP Freedom) along with experience of using WIP and billing systems.
