Financial Controller Senior recruitment
His main mission is to enhance internal control and analysis capacity of Paris hub Finance
As part of Paris hub Finance team, he will directly report to the Senior Financial Controller.
The main activities assumed by the Finance Department of Paris Hub are, on the same perimeter of entities:
-the IFRS reporting, statutory, fiscal and statutory, and the calculations of solvency,
-the general accounting, the accounting suppliers, the accounting of investments,
-the management of the treasury and the exchange,
-the tax system, the establishment of forecasts on investments and overheads
Responsibilities
• Build and run a budget and landing process for the Group in connection with Life and Non-Life divisions ;
• Provide regular analyses on FX, GAs, financial debts and non-technical cash flows among other items, to tie them to underlying economic drivers, in connection with Conso dept, FPA and GCCB ;
• Provide ad hoc analyses upon request, mainly during the quarterly financial close, to support the department in the production of documented, detailed and consistent answers to Conso, FPA, Divisions and external auditors about financial statements reported by Paris hub ;
• Ensure that Paris hub Finance procedures are kept up-to-date and applied on a timely and consistent basis over all Paris entities ;
• Review financial statements reported by branches (Canada, S’pore, UK, Cologne, Milan, Madrid) and ensure management and reconciliation of link accounts in connection with local teams ;
• Review financial statements reported by hub entities whose accounts are not managed by Paris hub Finance team to make effective the hub’s control and responsibility over these entities ;
Ensure account reconciliations and interface reconciliations are kept up-to-date ; set up action plans to clear suspense accounts if need be and to improve processes going forward accordingly.
Required experience and skills
vStrong accounting background (domestic or foreign CPA) or Master in Finance/Audit/Controlling.
v5/7 years as financial controller, preferably in a (re)insurance entity ; or 3/4 years as external auditor, preferably in the (re)insurance area ; or 3/4 years as consultant in finance transformation, preferably for (re)insurance clients.
vExcellent level in English
vStrong knowledge in IFRS ; knowledge of French GAAP is a plus.
vExpertise in analytics.
vExperience in the usage of Microsoft Excel and Access.
vFamiliarity with IT tools and processes
