We are seeking an Associate Director for our North American Financial Institutions group. The Financial Institutions group encompasses analysis of banks, thrifts, securities firms, asset managers, consumer finance, commercial finance, leasing, credit unions, mortgage companies, and GSEs. The position will involve working with senior members of the team on all aspects of the rating process for non-bank financial institutions, with progression to taking full responsibility for a portfolio of companies.

Primary duties will include: conducting onsite meetings with company management; performing analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors; presenting companies to Fitch's internal credit rating committee; communicating ratings and rating rationale to senior management; and writing and publishing research reports. The position will also require an active role in assisting in related industry studies.

 

The qualified candidate should have 4+ years of direct credit risk experience, with some time directly covering the financial services industry. Must be a self-motivated professional who works well in a team environment, must demonstrate strong writing and communication skills, experience with spread sheet creation and analysis, and the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously. This position is available in Fitch's New York or Chicago office.
