Financial Planning & Strategy Manager: European Sales recruitment

General Summary:
Discovery Communications is a highly successful, rapidly growing media business. The Financial Planning team are responsible for the financial planning, forecasting and analysis required by senior business and finance management across the EMEA region as well as International Corporate in the US. This position is based in London and covers Financial Strategy and planning for key European Distributors.
Key Objectives Responsibilities:
- To develop expertise and relationships in order to become a trusted business partner to regional Heads of Sales’ and Distribution Strategy team
- Major role in creating and managing the planning process with robust, accurate analysis to support the Finance Director and the SVP Head of Distribution in achieving departmental and organizational goals
- 5 year planning, manage a detailed 5 Year plan for strategy management of the distribution business, for review with SVP Distribution and Senior US management team
- Build and develop planning models analyzing revenue and subscriber trends for the key clients and markets
- Provide Strategic analysis of key deals and markets
- Provide information and analysis to support the Distribution Strategy team in deal renegotiations
- Work closely with operational departments and regional offices to model, challenge, and present financial information
- Ad-hoc responsibilities as required
Requirements:
- Experience in multi-national, multi-currency environment, ideally a US listed company.
- Strong modelling experience, including building and developing strategy and operational models
- Exceptional excel and office systems experience
- Ambitious, keen to take on additional responsibility.
- Creative thinking team player able to both lead and participate in cross functional projects

- Range of systems experience, including planning and forecasting tools

The Discovery EMEA business is headquartered in London with regional offices throughout continental Europe. Financial Planning Strategy work closely with the regions, corporate staff in London and the global head office in Washington DC.
