Financial Reporting Analyst

This mid-tier high profile bank  is looking to recruit a dynamic a professional graduate (2012/2011) 2.1 or above from a Top Ranked University who has a genuine interest and passion for Banking and specifically Regulatory Finance.. This is a great opportunity to be at the fore front of Regulatory changes within the banking community.  

The role will involve a close working relationship with the wider Regulatory Team in both London and Internationally, and across an array of departments throughout the bank, particularly Financial Reporting and Product Control. Working with such teams, the position will involve obtaining and analysing key information for external reporting and also to facilitate senior management decisions on the wider Bank Group.

This opportunity offers an excellent overview of both the financial and regulatory position of the bank, including a comprehensive understanding of capital resources, credit risk and market risk. The role will also provide a detailed overview of banking and related financial services and an opportunity to quickly build up a broad understanding of the Emerging Markets sector and a diverse range of banking products.

The successful candidate will be expected to study towards a CIMA or ACCA accountancy qualification.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Financial reporting (40%)
 Produce monthly financial returns for submission to the Bank of England
 Produce quarterly financial returns for submission to the PRA
 Analyse and understand financial results through discussion with the wider Finance team

• Analysis (20%)
 Provide analysis and commentary on movements in capital resources and capital usage
 Support the team in production of management reports to governance committees and reporting packs to regulators

• Controls and efficiency (10%)
 Analyse existing reporting processes to ensure they are effectively controlled and suggest enhancements to controls and reconciliations
 Work closely with colleagues on projects to re-engineer systems and processes and prepare for changes in regulations
