Financial Reporting- Assoc and AVP opening recruitment
The duties and responsibilities of the role would cover the following :
Reporting
- Monthly closing and review of books and records for the entities. Understanding and explaining to management significant movements in the balance sheet, in terms of changes in the business as well as movements in the market in general. Detailed analytical reviews with particular focus on manual adjustments.
- Liaison between Product Control, Operations and other areas of Financial Control overseas to ensure that changes in the business are clearly understood by all parties and those issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Ensuring that all reporting is compliant with IFRS and Group reporting requirements (balance sheet classifications, netting, etc.).
- Preparation of quarterly reporting package for submission to Group including analyses of financial statement movements.
- Dealing with ad hoc queries from management, Group, the auditors and other interested parties.
Process Improvement/Projects
- Review of current processes and controls with the aim of streamlining them by leveraging off recent and future IT developments.
- Engagement with New Products Team and Change Teams to assess appropriate accounting treatment and support new business build-outs.
- Involvement in ad hoc projects such as reporting and process reviews and system testing.
Engagement
- Lead by example towards building a client service and controls driven culture in the team. Actively encourage innovative thinking and nurture ideas directed towards problem-solving and efficiencies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across regions and functions.
Qualifications / Education
- Qualified Accountant
- Strong academic background
Experience required
Essential:
- 3 to 5 years post qualification experience for Associate role
- 6 to 8 years post qualification experience for AVP role
- Background in Finance / Investment Banking
Skills and Knowledge
Essential:
- Strong control awareness.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, self-starter, team player.
- Good IT System skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator.
- Desire to provide top quality service to internal clients.
- Strong technical accounting skills (IFRS)
- Willingness and ability to take ownership of issues and manage through to a successful resolution.
Preferred:
- Experience of working in SAP financial accounting or investment banking middle-office / back-office accounting and settlement systems.
