The Business Unit
Client Services is often described as the engine room of Colonial First State, as the primary functions of this team include providing the best customer service experience to our clients through product administration and contact centre services. But Client Services is much more than just an operational centre.
Purpose
The key purpose of this position is to investigate and resolve outstanding reconciliation items, run fund valuations, internal/external cash movements via Commbiz.
The Reconciliation Operations role is involved in the daily investigation of payment exceptions, investigations and following up of discrepancies/exceptions. We are also responsible for performing business critical functions like fund valuation, insurance premium jobs and commission payments

We are looking for highly motivated people with the ability to achieve targets in a busy and customer focussed environment. You must be a quick learner, computer literate and above all have a strong focus on customer service which is inherent in
everything we do.
- Understanding the valuable relationship the financial adviser has with their client at all times looking to ensure our service supports this relationship
- Look to enhance the Financial Adviser's relationship with their client at all times and to be seen as an extension of the Financial Adviser's operation
- The ownership of the complete administration process including receipt, verification, processing and confirmation back to the client/financial adviser internal/external clients
- Taking active steps to ensure fellow team members, Team Leaders and Managers are kept informed of any issues which may prevent reaching service standards
- Completing all systems alterations, generating written correspondence and completing all processing requirements and system updates relating to client enquiries, within defined performance standards
- Pro-active approach in identifying systems/service issues, being innovative towards prospective solutions in a creative and innovative manner as required
Challenges and Constraints of Position
- To satisfy individual client and financial adviser needs whilst managing daily work volumes ensuring quality standards are met
- To develop and maintain technical knowledge in all areas of Unit Trust, Superannuation, Pensions, Alternate Products, FirstChoice, Corporate Super.
- Service is normally provided between 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday however, as service standards dictate, the flexibility to work outside these hours will be required
- Regular participation in Skills Matrix. Continually assessing both individually and with Team Leaders in areas requiring development.

- Ability to work in a team environment to provide excellent customer service
- Eye for detail and willingness to tackle issues beyond 'own' role as required
- Ability to identify problems and help provide creative solutions
- Be able to work within deadlines and prioritise work
- An appreciation for the intermediary relationship
- Proven success in a process driven client service role
- Strong PC literacy
- 1 year reconciliation/accounting experience preferable
