Financial Services Regulatory Lawyer
The Company
Our client is a market-leading financial services organisation. It is seeking a lawyer with expertise in regulatory issues that will impact its business decisions; for an upcoming temporary assignment.
The Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing legal advice in relation to regulatory changes made worldwide. You should be able to assess regulatory risk in a timely fashion and provide clear, concise advice to senior business and legal management team members while adhering to internal legal policies.
The project is in London and is expected to start in May. It will last 12 months.
About You
Requirements:
- At least 3 years experience in top tier law firm
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister
- Capacity to liaise and build strong relationships with other risk and control functions including Credit, Tax and Compliance where appropriate
- Knowledge of financial services regulatory framework applicable to wholesale financial institutions (including, for example, the FSA Handbook, EMIR, MiFID etc) essential
- Experience advising onUKand European financial services legislation and regulation as well as coordinating and supporting advice on relevant financial services legislation and regulation in other jurisdictions (including theUS)
- Ability to train individual and group stakeholders when necessary
- Strong organizational skills that allow for clear, up-to-date presentation of regulatory compliance issues and ability to communicate and implement any necessary changes
- Team player with flexibility, good judgment and sound decision making skills
