Fire Extinguisher Service Technician Job in Largo, Florida Us

Piper Fire Protection is looking fire extinguisher or pre engineered service technicians.  Experience a plus but will train the right candidate.

Qualifications:

- A high school diploma is required
- Florida State Certificate for Fire Extinguishers and or pre engineered desired but not necessary.

Required Knowledge:

- The ability to complete written extinguisher and systems test sheet forms neatly and accurately.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of employees who hold varying roles and have varying responsibilities within the Company and the ability to present a professional image.
- Ability to maintain punctuality and good attendance.
- Possession of a valid and current Florida Driver’s License and a good driving record, current insurance and reliable transportation to and from work.
- Basic computer proficiency, including the use of e-mail
- Ability to complete safety training and successfully apply what was learned.
- Ability to recognize and perform job functions safely in unusual working conditions.

Due to the working conditions that the Fire Extinguisher Technicians must face each day in order to access fire extinguishers, each Technician must be able to perform the following functions:

- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders up and down to access extinguishers located on top of cooling towers, in attic spaces and down in basements, tunnels and elevator pits. Extinguisher Technicians are not to access confined spaces, unless trained to do so.
- Ability to climb stairs up and down to access extinguishers on upper and lower floors of buildings not equipped with elevators or to access extinguishers located in mechanical and electrical roof-top penthouses or basements.
- Know and be able to establish safety procedures effectively.
- Strong self motivation; proactive, high-energy, enthusiastic, “can do” work ethic; and ability to handle potentially stressful situations with a sense of humor.
