Fire Protection Specialist-01117749 Description Key Role: Serve as a junior to mid-level fire protection specialist. Support senior staff in providing technical expertise and assistance, particularly in the area of code interpretation and application. Conduct inspections of basic facilities and operations and apply knowledge of the necessary steps involved in completing a comprehensive inspection. Support the development of inspection reports, including the documentation of deficiencies and the identification of appropriate corrective actions. Assist with the development and implementation of training programs to improve client competencies in the areas of fire and life safety. This position is located in McLean, VA. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: -2 years of experience with performing field investigations or inspections to assure fire protection and life safety code compliance -Experience with supporting fire safety planning and coordination activities -Experience with performing fire protection system analysis -Knowledge of NFPA codes, state requirements, and life safety code requirements -Ability to obtain a security clearance -BA or BS degree in EE, ME, or Fire Protection Engineering Additional Qualifications: -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment-Possession of excellent technical report writing, problem resolution, interpersonal, and presentation skills -Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
