CITY OF UNIVERSITY PARK FIREFIGHTER
The City of University is currently accepting applications for Firefighter. Performs duties related to the delivery of fire suppression, fire prevention/education, hazardous incident response, rescue, and emergency medical services. Maintains fire station and equipment. Attends training necessary to achieve/maintain certifications and meet departmental objectives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* High school diploma or equivalent. College hours preferred * Minimum age of 20 by application closing date of 12/09/2011 * Maximum age of 36 on date of hire * No felony arrests or DWI / DUID convictions within the last 5 years * Acceptable driving record * No hearing impairments * Minimum vision 20/40 correctable to 20/20, must not be color blind * Must be TDSHS EMT or Paramedic certified. (May currently be in EMT training at time of application if Basic Structural Firefighter Academy has been completed) Paramedic preferred but not requite for entry level position. * Must currently posses TCFP Basic Structural Firefighter certification; or currently be attending a TCFP certified recruit academy and be within 90 days of completion on application closing date (12/09/11). Current Structural Firefighter certificate or verification of graduation date required at time of application submission. *Must pass a written exam, physical ability test, physical exam, psychological exam, drug test, and a polygraph.
Salary Range: $4,357 - $5,561 per month, plus excellent benefits package, advanced Fire/Paramedic certification and education pay.
