Leading investment bank based in LONDON looking to add a senior trader to their FIC desk in the largest Eurobond trading centre in the world. This bank has international reach and a very strong and stable presence globally. The chosen trader will join a top-tier team alongside well-respected professionals and very good support systems in place.
The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience Eurobond trading with a decent period focused on bonds denominated in emerging markets. The chosen trader will be responsible for primary coverage trading emerging market denominated Eurobonds ( LATAM / CEEMEA ). The focus of the role will be to contribute to and increase the number of active retail investors to whom the bank deals in Eurobonds by pushing the sales force and generating positive PNL figures.
This role will have a broad mandate allowing flexibility with constructing Eurobond products that the market demands. A strong track record in the Eurobond space in general is key.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years industry experience trading in the general Eurobond space
• Must have market knowledge, interest, and experience in the European Fixed Income and Emerging Markets industry
• A strong technical knowledge of cash rates / SSA’s / Corporate Bonds / Swaps / Govvies
• A strong track record of Eurobond trading, ideally with a focus on CEEMEA and LATAM markets
• Understanding of concepts like emerging market denominated Eurobonds
• Ability to work under pressure and within an international environment
The role:
• Maintain and develop the banks’ Eurobond franchise
- Product focus cash rates / SSA’s / Corporate Bonds / Swaps / Govvies for both market making and hedging purposes
• You will work closely with the Executive Directors for FIC Sales and Trading
• Develop the global client franchise by improving levels of retail business passing through the desk and therefore profitability
• Generate positive PNL figures trading Eurobonds with a particular focus on emerging markets ( LATAM / CEEMEA )
• Manage own risk
• Advise clients and provide them with trade ideas
• Push the sales force and help build the franchise
• Manage and develop desk tools and database
