Fixed Income – High Yield Credit Analyst recruitment

The Position
Wellington Management Company, LLP seeks a High Yield Credit Analyst in Fixed Income Credit Research. The analyst will be responsible for following several industries in the High Yield market and providing research on the bond issuers within them. In this role, analysts perform intensive fundamental credit analysis and formulate and effectively communicate investment recommendations that add value to client portfolios.

As part of the High Yield team the analyst will work directly with several portfolio managers as well as with traders and other analysts in Fixed Income Credit Research. In addition, high yield analysts regularly interact with the Wellington Global Industry Equity Analysts who follow overlapping industries.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a quantitative orientation.

Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

•At least seven to ten years of previous credit experience following more than one industry in highly leveraged credit markets.
•Formal credit training from a bank or other investment firm is desired.
•Strong analytical and communications skills (both written and oral).
•Be comfortable dealing with uncertainty and risk, and be able to make investment decisions that are supported by rigorous analysis and communicated with strong conviction.
•Strong understanding of investment concepts and intellectual curiosity
•A high level of initiative and experience developing and implementing value added investment recommendations
•Proven interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a small, collaborative team, while also communicating and interacting with a larger group of investment professionals
•An MBA or MSF and CFA, is preferred
