JOB TITLE: Fixed Income Rates Sales

CORPORATE TITLE: Senior Director

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients
• Take orders and execute on behalf of clients
• Improve levels of business passing through desk, improving profitability
• To promote Newedge as a Company
• Keep up to date with knowledge of new products/procedures on the various exchanges so that opportunities that may arise within the market segment can be optimised for clients
• Issue sales materials to keep clients informed of market development
• To advise clients in relation to strategies and potential trades
• Flexibility to cover other desks client’s when they are busy as interests overlap occasionally
• Reporting fills to clients and ensuring correct trade details are passed to the support areas
• Be aware of the many different clients various trading styles and try to cater to this as much as possible when dealing with them on a day to day basis (i.e. best execution)
• To adhere by the Newedge ‘Golden Rules’ (issued on joining)

SUPERVISION DUTIES:

Role is not responsible for supervising or managing any staff

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Market Skills:

• Must have market knowledge and experience in the industry
• Product knowledge: SSA, inflation, covered bonds
• Clients: Real Money account, Pension Fund, Asset Management, Insurance
• Coverage areas: UK, Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia, Italy
• Ability to make use of the above knowledge
• The role requires good numerical skills and reasonable literacy skills
• IT skills are required to understand and use trading and communication tools such as Bloomberg, Reuters and any relevant ISV’s
• Excellent communication/marketing/sales skills
• Knowledge of Newedge procedures and guidelines


Regulatory Skills:

• Needs to have good understanding of the regulatory framework in the UK and globally
• Needs to understand the regulations applicable to the performance of the role
• Needs to build a good working relationship with compliance and other control functions
• Role holder must have unquestioned fitness propriety, integrity
