There are a number of opportunities to join portfolio management from within BlackRock as it selects many of its members from various groups in the company.
Summary of Role:
The role holder will be a member of the Fixed Income Product Strategy Team and has two key elements:
1.Initially, support the global and Euro businesses (indexed and active):
Phase of the role is intended as an introduction to the FI business and the work of the Strategists. It is envisaged that the roleholder would progress to the second element:
2.Provide the full spectrum of client service on a range of FI products; likely initially to be Euro and global (indexed, active and some Alternatives)
Responsibilities
Client Support
1.Providing the Fixed Income Team’s input into regular client reports
2.Responding to ad hoc queries and requests for market and fund analysis
3.Preparing regular and ad hoc materials for use in marketing meetings
4.Supporting the Product Strategists in their communications with clients; this may involve, for example, taking part in client meetings and conference calls.
5.Working closely with the EMEA Sales Channels, acting as a main point of contact, information and advice for them
Product Development
• To participate in managing the life cycle of fixed income products, from idea generation, product build to marketing
Client Servicing
• To take primary responsibility within the Fixed Income team for servicing fixed income clients across the whole product range, including:
• Indexed
• Active
• Hedge funds
The role includes:
- Responsibility for regular portfolio reviews and reporting, as well as satisfying ad hoc requests for information and analysis
- A source of strategic advice for clients regarding their fixed income investments. This will involve keeping up to date on innovations in fixed income products and management techniques, and communicating them effectively to clients and prospects
Marketing
• To take primary responsibility within the EMEA Product Strategy Team for marketing the full range of BlacRock’s fixed income products to continental Europe. The range includes:
• Indexed
• Long-only active
• Hedge Funds
• The role will involve working closely with the EMEA Sales Channel
• The job holder will also represent the EMEA Product Strategy Team at new business pitches to clients and prospects.
Skills/experience:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with a wide variety of clients/prospects from a broad range of geographical locations
- Highly developed ability to explain fixed income concepts and products effectively to existing and prospective clients
- Effectiveness in marketing the BlackRock FI message across a broad range of client types and locations
- Candidates will ideally have a degree in Finance or Economics
- Good knowledge across fixed income products
