Pro Connections, LLC – Nationwide waste and recycling industry recruiting company is conducting a search for the following position:

Waste and recycling services company has a need for a highly experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager in Saginaw, Michigan. We are looking for someone who is seeking a challenge and has a sense of urgency.  We need a teacher and mentor with exceptional leadership skills to manage this truck fleet of approx. 100 and a team of approx. 25 Technicians.  We need someone that has managed a fleet of similar size.

 

** Although it's not required, previous experience as a Fleet Maintenance Manager for a waste hauling company is highly PREFERRED** 

**Previous experience as a Fleet Maintenance Manager working on heavy-duty, diesel, Class 8 trucks (route-based) is REQUIRED.**

We’re looking for someone who started their maintenance career as a heavy-duty (Class 8) diesel Truck Technician and has worked their way up the ranks. We’re searching for a hands-on team player and an excellent administrator.  We need someone who is good with numbers and possesses great people skills.  We’re looking for someone with a strong attention to detail, task oriented, very strong organizational skills, knowledgeable with Microsoft Excel, experienced with budgets and lastly ­ we’re looking for someone who will keep this shop clean and organized.  This person will implement corporate reporting, programs and policies and drive down operating costs.   The ideal candidate will have a commitment to excellence and continued improvement, be goal oriented, make and keep promises.  The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills ­ both verbal and written.  We’re looking for someone who is “easy going” yet not easily swayed, has a firm but fair managerial style; empowering employees and building a team environment.  We’re seeking someone who is decisive, honest and possesses exceptional leadership skills. We need someone who leads by example and has a high degree of integrity.

 

REQUIRED: 

High school diploma or GED certificate and a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on heavy-duty diesel fleet management experience..

VERY strong knowledge and experience with computer and systems usage

Work experience in a highly interactive and demanding corporate environment
Demonstrable skills in self organization, planning, prioritizing, follow-up, delegation
Proficiency using internet based and PC based computer applications to record, analyze, and report information
A valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Work experience in analyzing and diagnosing mechanical, electronic and hydraulic systems.
Work experience in successfully implementing safety programs and processes
Work experience in managing budgets, creating cost projections, prioritizing competing requirements.
Work experience resolving human resource and labor relations issues.

Work experience with environmental compliance (storm water reporting, haz mat manifests, etc).

High School diploma or equivalent.
 

PREFERRED:

ASE certifications
Valid commercial drivers license

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree

Compensation:

Base salary of approximately $70-90k/year (DOE) + possible performance bonus
