Leading Investment Bank is looking for a highly experienced software engineer/developer, who has worked with projects through all stages of the development lifecycle.
You will need to be a graduate with a strong degree in a relevant technical discipline (Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics etc.) with commercial experience of developing pragmatic solutions. Experience of working within the financial services is desirable, but evidence of a passion for technology, creative problem solving and personal motivation is more important.
The successful candidate will demonstrate that they are more than just an excellent developer but that they can also act as an agent of change within a development organisation.
Essential skills required:
• Excellent conceptual grasp of all aspects of software development gained by involvement in the full project lifecycle of multiple substantial projects
• Flex expert who can train/assist other developers. Minimum of 2 years of Flex experience on a large scale deliverable.
• Java, Spring, Hibernate, Maven
• Oracle PL/SQL development and performance tuning experience
• Shell scripting and basic unix admin skills
• Experience of messaging infrastructures (preferably TIBCO Rendezvous)
• Strong communicator – able to interface with key business and technology stakeholders
• Excellent knowledge of standard architecture paradigms and software coding patterns
• Able to identify risks before they become issues and propose mitigation strategies
• Strong team culture and knowledge sharing attributes
• Able to work effectively under pressure
Desirable skills:
• Experience of delivering a Service Orientated Architecture
• Experience of Search technology, data ingestion (Preferably Attivio).
• Good HCI and usability skills
• Experience of collaborative coding and awareness of best practice approaches for code management, integration and testing
• Experience working with distributed teams
