Foreign Exchange Sales Director
Job Purpose
- Drive sales and business development effort for our Foreign Exchange platform through working closely with our 20+ country coverage sales force and as a foreign exchange ‘specialist’
- Be responsible and accountable for growth in assets under management on the platform through sales of existing and potential development and sale of new products
- Grow and deepen existing ETFS investor relationships and prospect for and develop new client relationships
- Promote ETF Securities as a go-to resource for FX knowledge
- Engage with key contacts and sponsors in the asset management industry to educate on foreign exchange markets, exchange traded product developments, structure, usage, etc.
Key Accountabilities and Scope
- Sell ETF Securities foreign exchange products to European investors xx
- Build a clear business plan for each country in conjunction with the country coverage sales people
- Have an active contribution to the development of existing relationships with key accounts and to effectively target new leads and prospects
- Provide quality support to clients and prospects by fielding, responding to and accommodating day-to-day requests regarding the range of ETFS’s FX products
- Schedule client meetings, completing the necessary preparation and follow-up, making full use of CRM
- Explore distribution agreements that may enhance the products penetration
- Work with PR on identifying events where we can speak about the FX market generally
- Attend asset management networking events to promote ETFS’s FX brand
- Organise teach-ins for existing and potential clients on foreign exchange
- Continue website development through suggestions for improvement to help drive traffic by adding value through videos, articles, social media, etc.
- Co-ordinate sales, marketing and research teams to promote our FX products - create a story for discussion with clients and develop marketing implementation plan
- Advise internally as to which new FX product opportunities are best for ETFS to launch
- Work with legal and compliance to ensure all regulatory requirements are met when developing business across different countries
Skills and Qualifications
Technical skills
- Have at least 5 years prior experience in selling FX and therefore have a comprehensive understanding of the investor landscape and client base
- Show an appreciation of the different approaches required for each customer segment and ideally has experience attracting and selling across all segments
- Show proven business development capabilities, winning new clients and demonstration of relationship management
- In depth knowledge of FX is essential and an understanding of FX and interest rate derivative products is advantageous
- Show some knowledge of ETFs and their appeal to investors and be hungry to develop this knowledge
- Have appreciation of the operational function behind the sale; in particular the impact of Capital Markets, Seeding, and Pricing has on the impact of an exchange traded product
