Foreign Exchange Senior Operations Specialist

The Sr. Operations Specialist is responsible for all functions in support of BBH's Foreign Exchange Standing Instructions product.  This would include centralizing trade information from internal sources, such as GTPS, and ensuring accuracy, validity, and appropriateness of the same.  Individual will need to develop pertinent region specific expertise regarding emerging market foreign exchange in Latin America, the Far East, and Africa.  In this regard, he/she will work in close coordination with the Treasury Network team.  In addition to daily responsibilities, the individual will provide regular updates to Senior Officers in FX Trading, Treasury, and Operations with concise and expert summaries of complex market regulations in restricted and emerging market currencies.  The individual will also respond to internal and external client service requests with respect to FX reconciliation, discrepancies, and investigations.                                                                                                                         

                                                                                                                                                                            

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Resolve problems and execute transactions.

-Interact with other BBH departments on resolution of issues.

-Follow up on open inquiries.

-Communicate professionally and constructively to effectively resolve issues in order to minimize risk and exposure.

-Intraday and end of day reconciliation of daily work.

-Assisting management with high level projects.

-Provide superior client service.

-Ensure timely response to internal and external requests.

-Build and maintain relationships at all levels both within and outside the organization.

-Communicate as part of a team.

-Ensure all deadlines and requirements are being met.

-Identify and document errors in an effort to reduce exposure.

-Gain efficiencies to improve individual productivity.

-Leverage understanding of the big picture/how specific function impacts the firm.

-Contribute to Division or Firm process improvement activities.

-May assist in the development and production of monthly management reporting.   

SKILLS

 

-BS/BA or equivalent work experience.

-2 to 3 years of industry experience (Trading/Trade Support environment).

-Knowledge of one or more product areas within Operations and its process.

-Research, analysis and problem resolution skills.

-Ability to communicate professionally with all levels through effective verbal and written skills.

-Organizational skills and detail-oriented.

-Ability to multi-task.

-Ability to work in a team environment.

-Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

-Proactive self starter who is detail and goal oriented.
