Job Summary

Responsible for conducting process engineering activities in new state-of-the art investment casting facility.    Engineering activities include development of process parameters, department management, programming of advanced machinery and robotics, root cause analysis of casting defects, cost reduction activities, documentation of procedures and process, and training and mentorship of shop floor personnel.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

·         Develop and control critical process parameters within the investment casting process.

·         Program advanced robotics/equipment used in the casting process.

·         Analyze and reduce casting defects.

·         Establish and maintain safety, quality, cost, production, and delivery metrics.

·         Investigate new technologies and materials and conduct “pay-back” analysis.

·         Lead cost reduction activities within the investment casting processes.

·         Implement lean principles and strategies throughout the casting process.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs)

·         Skilled and knowledgeable in investment casting process.

·         Familiarity with investment casting equipment.

·         Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerance

·         Ability to conduct root cause analysis on casting defects.

·         Ability to handle project assignments of medium scope and complexity and able to prioritize and complete work in a timely manner

·         Demonstrates good problem solving skills through the use of quality and statistical tools.

·         Ability to effectively work within a team and cross functionally to expedite completion of critical project tasks

·         Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills

·         Microsoft Office Suite and Project; Statistical Process Control skills; proficient in process development, CNC programming, Computer Aided Design Systems, and Unigraphics 3-D modeling software

 

Education/ Experience Requirements

·         B.S. in metallurgical, mechanical, ceramic, industrial engineering, other engineering science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Travel Requirements

·         Up to 15%
