My client is a global leading proprietary trading firm whom we have collaborated with for a number of years, covering senior appointments across their global operations in the US, Europe and Asia. Now, due to ongoing growth and success, they are seeking an exceptional C++ Software Developer to join the Front Office team in Chicago, with the opportunity to work very closely with the traders and implement innovative ideas as well as enhance their cutting-edge high frequency trading systems. The successful Front Office C++ Developer will work with other team members of the Development team to build these sophisticated trading tools for the traders to trade securities and derivatives across the globes largest financial markets with the aim to stay ahead of competitors and develop the fastest systems on the street. There will be a huge level of responsibility within this role and you will in turn report to the Head of Development US, ensuring that all software created will be of the highest level of quality with regards to performance, documentation, testability, robustness and that code review processes etc are always followed.
Responsibilities for Front Office C++ Developer - High Frequency Trading, Global Leading Proprietary Trading Firm, Chicago, USA;
• Understanding option pricing theory, market making and trading conditions
• Pro-active approach to seeking requirements from end users and other key members of staff
• Discovering new techniques in which to innovate algorithms and systems design
• Meeting and surpassing end users expectations in terms of functionality, quality and performance
• Creating cutting-edge code design quality and improving run-time performance
• Providing feedback on above standards, and suggesting alternatives and refinements
• Ensuring the solution does not limit future development
• Carrying out projects in full collaboration with colleagues across the business-offices
• Sharing knowledge of systems new technologies with other developers
Front Office C++ Developer - High Frequency Trading, Global Leading Proprietary Trading Firm, Chicago, USA requires the following skill-set;
• BA-MSc-PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics etc
• Excellent C++ programming skills with strong object-oriented design
• C# programming is beneficial
• STL and-or Boost libraries
• Real time systems development
• Cross-platform development Windows-Linux
• Strong Mathematical knowledge
• Experience working in a trading environment with automated trading system knowledge, preferred. Desire and aptitude to learn and understand the Trading Industry required
• Excellent communication
