Front office IT Chief Architect Investment Bank Singapore
The successful candidate will come in at director level and work with the global head of commodities IT to identify and promote improvements to the strategy and architecture of commodities front office / trading IT systems. In this role you will be expected to contribute to commodities policies, standards and guidelines as well as represent commodities IT at various round tables and technology working groups Although this role is very closely aligned to commodities IT you will also work with a larger group which encompasses fixed income, commodities, credit and currencies IT to improve the overall strategy and architecture of FICC IT.
Main duties:
- Work with system owners and other stakeholders on the architecture of new or substantially-modified systems
- Provide ongoing architectural support during the design, build and test phases of Commodity systems
- Review proposed architectures and existing systems for adherence to Commodities IT principles, patterns and best practice, identify improvements and actions and support their implementation
- Ensure that architectures exhibit the required quality properties such as performance, scalability, resilience, and security
- Ensure that context, scope and requirements are clear and agreed, and help ensure that changes to these are done in a controlled manner during the lifetime of the system
- Oversee architectural decision-making, and arbitrate and negotiate to reach the desired outcomes
Requirements:
- Qualifications /education- Science degree (Computing, Math, Engineering, etc.
- Technical leadership
- Information capture and documentation
- Facilitation, negotiation and consensus-building across various levels of seniority
- The ability to work with stakeholders, supporting and challenging them as appropriate
- The ability to think in the abstract but to drill down into detail when required
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility, prioritisation, and self-management (the ability to work on several tasks at once)
- The ability to bring your own skills to bear where they are strong, and effectively leverage the skills of domain or technical specialists otherwise
- Detailed knowledge of the trading systems, trade life-cycle, risk systems and core trade controls
- Extensive experience of software development and deployment, in the financial sector and with the technology stack (C++/C#/Java; Windows/Linux; SQL Server/Oracle)
