Front office quantitative Trading strategist – European Power

 

A large established investment bank are currently looking for a power trading strategist to join their team in London.

You will be joining the trading team therefore should have experience developing real time trading ideas and also have solid programming skills. whilst you will not be hedging strategies this is the long term progression of the role.

 

Applicants with experience building strategies for the German Power Market will be at a distinct advantage in this position.

 

To apply for this position you should have 5-7 years of experience carrying out the following tasks:-

 

-          Developing quantitative trading strategies for a short-term time horizon.

-          Creating short-term cross-country model for the power market

-          Developing trading tools for European power trading floor

-          Forecasting short and long term power prices in Western and Eastern Europe using power stack models

-          Improving Power analytics

-          Getting involved in IT developments (VBA, SQL, JAVA)

 

 

Applicants should have some experience using fundamental supply demand factors within their forecasts, and offer support to trading decisions of the traders.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a quantitative commodity analyst/strategist with experience within the European Power market to join a profitable trading desk.
