Job Description
- Support the FSA Remediation exercise, in response to the recent “Dear CEO” letters that have been sent by the FSA earlier in the year
- Review completed files that were previously verified by the sales team and assessing them in relation to retail suitability under FSA guidelines and regulations
Skills and Experience
- Degree educated – business/finance/law related; professional qualification as well would be preferred but not essential
- Proven compliance consultancy background working with Private Wealth Management clients ideally with a focus on understanding suitability and record keeping requirements dealing with retail clients
- Previous FSA remediation experience in a financial services/investment banking environment
- Ability to review transactions and portfolios in client accounts against identified investment risk profile and client investment experience to assess suitability and appropriateness (MiFID definition)
- Experience in carrying out file reviews of retail clients according to FSA requirements, assessing adequacy of relationship and investment notes to confirm suitability
- Candidates with pure KYC/AML backgrounds or experience are not suitable for this project
Successful candidates should be on a maximum of a month's notice period or less and be able to commit to the full 6 month term.
