FSA Remediation Consultant recruitment
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an FSA Remediation Coordinator to work for a top tier private wealth management.
You will be part of the PWM EMEA compliance/management review team, based inLondon, to provide compliance support to the UK-based business and to the EMEA regional offices (in conjunction with onshore compliance personnel in other EMEA locations). You will be specifically supporting the FSA Remediation exercise, in response to the 'Dear CEO' letters that were sent out by the FSA earlier this year.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing completed files that have already been checked by the sales team and assessing them in relation to retail suitability under FSA guidelines and regulations.
- Having an awareness of retail suitability in line with FSA regulations.
- Having a thorough understanding of private wealth management ideally with a focus on understanding suitability and record keeping requirements dealing with retail clients.
- Reviewing transactions and portfolios in client accounts against identified investment risk profile and client investment experience to assess suitability and appropriateness (MiFID definition).
- Carrying out file reviews of retail clients according to FSA requirements, assessing adequacy of relationship and investment notes to confirm suitability.
Skills and Experience:
- Good experience working as a compliance consultant in a financial services/investment banking/private wealth management environment is desirable.
- German and Spanish language proficiency is beneficial.
- An understanding of private wealth management ideally with a focus on understanding suitability and record keeping requirements dealing with retail clients is advantageous.
