Posted Position Title: Fuel Handling Supervisor Career Level: Experienced Function Services Function Segment: Fulfillment Operations Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Virginia City: King George Postal Code: 22485-6653 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose: The Fuel Handling Supervisor is responsible for directing the operations and maintenance of all station fuel and ash handling equipment in a safe, efficient, reliable and environmentally acceptable manner in support the facility's generation of electricity. Work is performed with direction from the Maintenance Manager. In this role, you will: Essential Responsibilities - Coordinate of the fuel handling work activities for corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance for all of the fuel handling equipment, site run-off/storage ponds and ash unloading. - Ensure staff is competent and motivated by providing adequate training and candid performance evaluations. - Develop predictive/preventive maintenance programs using Maximo and other software as appropriate - Provide supervision and technical support to the maintenance team during planned and forced outages - Develop and support the fuel handling corrective and capital budgets - Provide inventory and fuel delivery details as requested to facility management, owners and customer - Utilize project management software such as Primavera and Microsoft Project Planner - Coordinates and supervises contract labor - Be responsible for bid specifications and evaluations of goods and services ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: - Ability and willingness to be on-call for unusual events and emergencies at all times - Ability and willingness to wear the protective equipment as required by federal and state safety and health standards - Ability and willingness to work overtime as required - Ability and willingness to perform inspections of equipment in confined spaces and at heights Qualifications/Requirements: - High School diploma / GED with a minimum of seven years experience in coal-fired power plant maintenance and/or operations or a related field Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Desired Characteristics - Thorough understanding of the principles, practices and procedures of operations, maintenance, environmental control and safety as applied to fuel and ash handling, including heavy motorized vehicles and railroad equipment - Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with various levels within the organization, customers, and outside vendors - Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, PIDs, schematics and system diagrams Why join one great company when you can join many?
