Functional Consultant - 12 Month FTC

Job Details

The Functional Consultant will work closely with key business partners to ensure the
applications and systems being delivered have been specified and implemented to their
initial and ongoing business requirements. The individual will also be instrumental in
ensuring that the applications meet the ongoing demands of the business in terms of new
functionality; providing a roadmap for applications and accompanying business process
improvement change where required and helping to ensure that issues are resolved with
vendors in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Application Management

* Work with business users to identify and document functional requirements for
new or amended system functionality and business processes.
* Keep abreast of all application and functional changes.
* Maintain an in-depth understanding of the capability, configuration and roadmap
for defined technical applications.
* Undertake impact assessments of proposed changes on specific technical
applications.
* Ensure that business strategy is translated into workable functionality and
business processes within systems.
* Coordinate with the vendor to resolve any issues/problems with the business
applications and ensure that focus and prioritisation is given to any action
required.
* Provide input to UAT process.
Project Analysis
* Work with the programme group and IT teams, within the delivery framework, to
ensure quality and timeliness of delivery to the business.
* Provide technical application expertise to support other delivery functions (BA;
Architect; Testing and Quality; Training; Development)
* Input to feasibility and initiation phases of projects with respect to requirements
definitions.
* Work with the project team with regards to all application enhancements.

* An extensive functional understanding of finance and practice management systems and business processes typically implemented within a law or professional services firm.
* Extensive IT experience.
* Proven track record in the implementation and full life cycle development of Enterprise Finance applications, specifically within Legal firms.
* Experience of developing and evolving strategies and implementing solutions in relation to financial processes and applications.
* An understanding of workflow methodologies and knowledge of relevant technologies within IT Infrastructure.
* Strong business analyst experience and a demonstrate a background in using and applying a variety of business analyst tools to facilitate requirements gathering, analysis, business process modelling, stakeholder management, development of business cases, solution options and functional specification documentation for the proposed solution/s.
